Dr. Del Giacco, Ph.D., LCAT is a Mental Health Provider Licensed as a Creative Art Therapist in New York State and has served as a Continuing Education Provider for LCATS from 2018-2024.
Dr. Del Giacco was awarded the Founders Award from the New York State Brain Injury Association. She was an approved provider of services for VESID for people with disabilities and has received many grants from local agencies, including the New York State Legislature, to develop her program, "Del Giacco Neuro Art Therapy". Dr. Del Giacco has trained professionals from all over the world in her therapeutic techniques that help with traumatic brain injury, ADHD, stroke, and memory problems.
I specialize in art therapy I assist children and adults with behavior problems associated with attention deficit. I have worked in the field of Art Therapy for over two decades, and I have helped many different types of mental health issues using art therapy techniques. Art Therapy has helped clients suffering from anxiety, depression, trauma, loss, and many neurological deficits where cognitive decline has occurred.
Adults find using Art Therapy easy, for example;
We may use painting, clay, and drawing. Computer Work may also become part of your session if required.
Traditional talk therapy is a very different approach than art therapy. In that, creating images helps the person understand their feelings and then makes it much easier for them to express what they are feeling.
When teenagers want help through troubled times.
Art therapy can provide a means of self-satisfaction and expression. By gaining a sense of self-worth they can learn to stabilize their emotional systems.
For adults and children who wish to improve in school (ADHD) or their workplace, we will use a highly successful computer-based program. My New Children’s Book
My book provides a simple example that guides a young cub on a journey to discover connections with others. The young cub seeks out a trusted adult for help. I use Art Therapy in my practice, in your first session we will explore what brought you to therapy and then decide the most appropriate ways to help you make progress. With Art Therapy, we'll look at how your thoughts affect your emotions and experiences. During treatment, you will explore recognizing the triggers that may keep you from managing your feelings better.
