Will Insurance Cover Art Therapy?
Yes, but, the best way to know if your insurance will cover art therapy is to know your specific plan. Does your insurance pay for out-of-network services? All of my services are out of network or OON.
Out-of-Network: I can take any insurance and bill “OON.” Some plans have great OON benefits and will cover psychotherapy.
I help can you with this. I know how to verify insurance details. When you contact me, tell me your insurance carrier, member ID#, your Date Of Birth, address and phone number.
Then I will be able to verify your plan shortly.
I will also need a photo ID (drivers license) and a photo of your insurance card both front and back. I will then contact your insurance company to verify coverage.
Medicaid: United Healthcare often will pay for treatment with me.
In addition, I offer a sliding fee scale with proof of income.
Private Pay and Rates
Many people choose to or are forced to pay for psychotherapy without using insurance. We have many patients come to our practice and pay out of pocket for the following reasons:
1) They don’t have insurance or we do not take their insurance
2) Their insurance has a high deductible that they will never meet
3) They do not want to receive a mental health diagnosis (insurances require a diagnosis in order to pay for services)
Regardless of the reason, we accept private-pay. I utilize a sliding scale. My rate is set at $145 a session (45 minutes), with a sliding scale down to $75 a session.
If assessments are required the fee ranges from $275.00 to $550.00.
I use an honesty policy (whatever a patient says they can honestly afford within that scale).
I prefer credit and debit cards as forms of payment, however, cash or check is accepted.
